Canvas - Chat
The Canvas chat tool allows for real-time communication between all students and instructors. Messages created here are open for everyone in the course to see.
- In Canvas open a course.
- From the course navigation menu select the Chat link.
- On the Chat page you will see all of the communications in this course.
- To create a new message, enter your text in the dialog window below the chat thread and click on the Send button when you are ready.
- Any message that you add here will be permanent and can not be deleted.
- At the top, just below the Course Chat title you will see a notification of how many people are currently online. Select the arrow to see their names.
