Learning materials can be added to your Canvas resources by selecting a Design Tools page template. Note: The page template will overwrite whatever content is already on the page.

Content Blocks can also be added to the page in order to add or update a portion of the content on the page.

Page Template

Create a Canvas Page or Assignment

1. Create a new blank page in Canvas.

Add Template

1. Open the Design Tools panel.
   
   
2. Click the carrot to expand the Create/Edit Content menu.
   
   
   
3. Click the carrot to expand the Copy Existing Content menu.
   
   
   
4. Click the drop-down menu under Institution Templates and select the content to add.
   
   
   
5. The material will be added to the Canvas page.
   
6. If needed, type a Page Title.
   
   
   
7. Click the Save or Save & Publish button.
   

Content Block

1. Open the Design Tools panel.
   
   
2. Click the + Add Content Blocks button.
   
   
   
3. Click the block under Institutional Block Templates.
   
   
   
4. The content of the block can be edited by changing text or links.
   The entire block can be moved on the page by expanding the Add/Rearrange Content Blocks area (1). Click and drag the arrow (2) to move the block or the X (3) to remove the entire block from the page.
   
   
   
5. Click the Save or Save & Publish button.
