Our Mission is to integrate sustainable practices into every aspect of our printing operations. We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint through the use of energy-efficient printers, eco-friendly consumables, and advanced digital solutions. By promoting responsible recycling and minimizing waste, we aim to deliver high-quality, cost-effective printing solutions that support both our clients' needs and our planet's well-being. We strive to educate and empower our stakeholders to make informed choices that contribute to a greener, more sustainable world.

Our Vision is to lead the way in eco-friendly printing solutions, fostering a sustainable future where every print leaves a positive impact on the environment. We aspire to be recognized as the benchmark for sustainable printing practices, inspiring others to adopt innovative and responsible approaches to printing.

Our Goals:

  1. Promote a Paperless Office:
    • Encourage the use of digital signatures, electronic invoicing, and online collaboration tools to minimize the need for printed documents.
    • Gradually transition to a paperless office environment where feasible.
    • Move MFP's to common areas for easy access to Students, Faculty, and Staff.
  2. Track and Report Progress:
    • Monitor energy consumption, paper usage, and waste generated by printing activities.
    • Set measurable targets for reducing environmental impact and report progress regularly to stakeholders.
  3. Educate and Engage Employees:
    • Provide training and resources to employees on sustainable printing practices.
    • Encourage staff to be mindful of their printing habits and to opt for digital alternatives whenever possible.
  4. Reduce Energy Consumption:
    • Implement the use of energy-efficient printers with ENERGY STAR® certification.
    • Enable automatic sleep and power-down modes on all printers to conserve energy when not in use.

Phase I: BEC Lower Level - to be completed by September 30th, 2024

  • Current Printer Inventory: There are currently 12 printers located on the lower level.
  • Proposed Changes: We propose the removal of all departmental printers to streamline and enhance our printing services.
  • MFP Placement: We will retain the 3 multifunction printers (MFPs) and relocate them to common areas that are easily accessible to students, staff, and faculty.
  • Disposition of Old Printers: The old printers will be responsibly disposed of through auction or sold at the CVTC Technology Surplus Store, ensuring sustainable and efficient asset management.
  • Printer Locations: 1 located in the hall between BEC 004 and 005.  1 located in the hall between BEC 022 and 023.  1 located in the hall between BEC 030A and 030B.  Please see map below for precise locations.

Phase II: TBD - To be completed by February 28th, 2025.

Phase III: TBD - To be completed September 30th, 2025.
