UDOIT Accessibility - Title Element Missing
When uploading PDFs to Canvas, UDOIT may flag an error if the file does not contain a Title in its document properties. Even if you generate an auto-tagged PDF, the new file may default to "Unknown Title" if the original document lacked a title. This article explains how to fix the issue by editing the document properties in a PDF editor, replacing the file in UDOIT, and rescanning to confirm the fix. Following best practices when preparing your file will help avoid repeated errors.
- UDOIT Accessibility checks PDF document properties for accessibility compliance.
- If the original file does not include a Title, UDOIT will flag it.
- Auto-tagged PDFs inherit the missing metadata and may display "Unknown Title" instead of generating a proper title.
