Restore Files and Folders

You can use previous versions to restore files and folders that you accidentally modified or deleted, or that were corrupted. Depending on the type of file or folder, you can open, save to a different location, or restore a previous version.

Note: For CVTC N: and S: drives, previous versions go back 2 months, anything older than that cannot be recovered using Previous Versions and you will need to submit an incident with the IT Service Desk.

  1. Navigate to the folder or file you wish to restore.

  2. Right click on the folder or file. Click Properties.
    Properties end of list

  3. Go to Previous Versions tab.

  4. Find the date and time closest to date you wish to restore to. Click Open, to preview the contents of the folder.
    • If you do not see the missing file or folder, keep checking other previous versions until you find it.
