The Canvas interface is split into three sections: Global Navigation, Dashboard, and Sidebar.

Global Navigation

• Update your profile, settings, update notifications, and more with the Account link.
• Use the Dashboard link to find your courses, view your to-do-list, and find links to other items. Clicking the CVTC logo at the top of this menu will also navigate to the dashboard.
• The Courses icon includes quick links to your currently enrolled courses.
• If your instructor has assigned Groups, an icon will appear in the Global Navigation.
• Don't forget to view your schedule and course tasks with the Calendar link.
• Send private messages to your classmates or instructors through the Inbox link.
• Use the Bookstore link to order textbooks and materials for your courses.
• TimelyCare is a virtual health and well-being platform available 24/7 for CVTC Students.
• Upload, record, and manage video content for your courses using the Studio link.
• Use the Help link to find assistance on a variety of Canvas tools and other college resources.

Dashboard

1. View courses in dashboard. You'll have the option to change from Card View, List View, or by Recent Activity.
2. Card View will provide a direct link to the course and is recommended for consistency and ease. List View and Recent Activity will provide direct links to individual items within the course.

Sidebar

1. View your calendar and to-do list.
2. Find links to recent feedback from your instructors and/or peers.
3. Use a quick link to review your current grades.
