Admissions Requirements
1. Where do I turn in admission requirements?
Admission requirements can be submitted either electronically or in-person. To submit them online, you can log onto your application portal. If you would like to submit admission requirements in-person, please bring them to Student Central in room 113 of the Business Education Center.
2. How do I complete my background check for Admissions?
To complete the background check for your program, please log onto www.cvtc.edu/backgroundcheck. Here you will find instructions for completing the background check through the Castle Branch website. Please note CVTC programs with a background check requirement will only accept Castle Branch results. Background checks completed at previous colleges and/or places of employment will not be accepted.
3. What type of CPR do I have to have?
CVTC requires you to have the BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR certification. If you are not CPR-BLS certified and would like to obtain the certification, CVTC offers a CPR-BLS course through our continuing education courses. To register, click “Continuing Education” at the top of the main CVTC website and select “CPR” under the “Emergency Services” category.
4. How do I transfer in credits from other schools?
If you have previous high school or college credits you would like transferred, you will be required to provide a copy of your official transcripts. Unofficial transcripts cannot be used for transfer credits. Please submit official transcripts to our Admissions office (room 113 in the Business Education Center) for processing. Please note that official transcripts must be sealed/unopened to remain official. They can also be submitted electronically to admissionsmail@cvtc.edu.
5. What is a required information session?
Some programs at CVTC have a required information session for admission. These session dates are assigned. If your program has a required information session a letter will be sent to you indicating the date and time you are required to attend. These mandatory sessions include important information regarding program conduct, as well as academic and course expectations. If you are unable to attend your required information session, please contact Student Central at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled session by calling 715-833-6200 or email studentcentral@cvtc.edu.
