Assessment Preparation

Some programs offered at CVTC have admission requirements that may include reaching a minimum score on a placement assessment. Academic Services offers free seminars to help you prepare for HESI, and individual help for Accuplacer and Tailwind Assessments. You may also find the following websites help as you get ready for your assessment.


Tailwind Math Prep

Students in the Liberal Arts program who intend on taking a Liberal Arts math course will need to take the Tailwind Math Placement Exam. Use these videos for review and study. The practice test below can help you find the correct level of math in relation to your abilities.

The HESI Admission Assessment (A2) is an admission requirement for the CVTC Nursing and other health programs. The test assesses knowledge in math, grammar, reading, and anatomy and physiology.

In addition to the resources below, a free online HESI prep course is available to help you prepare for the HESI exam. You can work through the course at your own pace to review grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary, mathematics, and Anatomy & Physiology. Academic Services

Many college students need help at some point in their education. Learning Centers are located on each campus to provide support to our students. The Academic Services Team provides FREE homework help, study skills, and test preparation, technology support, other tutoring services. Learning materials and one-on-one assistance is provided by qualified faculty and peer tutors in our open lab(s). No appointments are necessary! The first time you visit our lab you will be required to register, which allows our team to obtain valuable data about our services.
