Subject: Power Outage & System Availability Update
Good Afternoon CVTC Employees,
We have confirmed that the power outage was caused by an error in some scheduled testing that was done on the fire safety system at the Applied Technology Center this morning.
The power has been restored and the network environment is up and running, however, some unforeseen equipment issues have occurred due to the power outage, which has delayed progress since our last update. The network engineering team is currently working to bring the production network infrastructure and attached systems back online and is working closely with Cisco to resolve the remaining issues. At this time, we do not have an estimated time for restoration of all systems.
The door locks are functioning as usual and internet connection via hardwire in campus buildings should be operational. Any cloud apps such as Office 365, Teams, One Drive, and Sharepoint files are accessible. Currently, wireless internet and phones are not working on the CVTC campuses. Systems such as Banner, the public web, MyCVTC, and single sign on (SSO) are not available. The servers are healthy, but we are unable to get to them due to a connectivity issue on the server.

Subject: Power Outage Update
We have learned that the power outage was caused by fire prevention testing at the Applied Technology Center. Our teams continue to address the issue and are working to get systems back up and running. Please note that due to the current power outage at the data center, phones and internet are not available at any of the CVTC campus buildings. If you have a hot spot or are working remotely with access to Wi-Fi, you should be able to access email and Teams on your computers. With internet access, you can also access Office 365, including Sharepoint files.
We will continue to provide updates as the power and systems are restored.

A power outage at the ATC Data Center is currently affecting many CVTC systems and will impact your ability to utilize many systems including Banner, MyCVTC, etc. We are assessing the situation and power and the systems will be restored as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience as the power and systems are brought back online. We will send out a notification when things are back up and running!
