E-stream/Web-stream/internet streaming - all terms used to define taking a video and making it available from the Internet.
Video currently exists in a hard copy format such as DVD, VHS tape or you have a video file on hard drive that needs to be internet accessable. Videos can be transferred from the hard copy media, converted and placed on our Internet based Streaming video service (currently Camtasia).
If you have ‘hard copy’ media or a video file that you need to be made available on the Internet, please open an incident with IT Service Desk and include the details of your need. After creating the ticket, send your ‘hard copy’ media to Media Services department or Shawn Emberts via inter-department mail. Copyright compliance will first be checked and any appropriate actions will be taken care of first. Some copyright holders may require money, but most require something in writing stating that we will not profit from or resale the video. Once copyright approval is OK, the videos will be processed and you will receive an email with the web link to your video.
