Common G Suite Issues
Issue: Students see the ‘cvtc.edu’ prompt when setting up their account and they assume they can’t log in
Solution: Student must type their full @student.cvtc.edu address to get into their account
Issue: User's CVTC password is not working.
Solution: User must reset their MyCVTC password. The new MyCVTC password will sync with your Google account. Click here to reset password.
Issue: Users see a ‘You have been signed out > Retry’ dialogue when accessing Drive.
Solution: Use Chrome. Drive is incompatible with Internet Explorer
Issue: When trying to activate their account, students see ‘Could not find account’ when entering their Student Email
Solution: If a student has a @cvtc.edu email from previous employment, they cannot use their student email to log in. They should use their @cvtc.edu address
Issue: After a student sets up their account and accesses drive, Google just puts up a spinning multicolored circle that goes nowhere.
Solution: Sign out and sign back in. Close and reopen the browser if necessary.
Issue: After setting up their account, users try to access shared documents but must request access, even when they have a link.
Solution: On personal machines, this may try to open the document using their personal gmail account. Users must sign out, of their personal account, and sign back into their CVTC account to access these links correctly.
Issue: When I try to log into my CVTC Google account it says Account Disabled.
Solution: Your CVTC Google account is disabled 12 months after the last day of the last class you take at CVTC. Please make sure that you transfer files you need to a personal drive or download them to your personal device.
