Common G Suite Issues

DefaultLine.png

Issue: Students see the ‘cvtc.edu’ prompt when setting up their account and they assume they can’t log in
Solution: Student must type their full @student.cvtc.edu address to get into their account

Issue: Users see a ‘You have been signed out > Retry’ dialogue when accessing Drive.
Solution: Use Chrome. Drive is incompatible with Internet Explorer

Issue: When trying to create their account, students see ‘Could not find account’ when entering their Student Email
Solution: If a student has a @cvtc.edu email from previous employment, they cannot use their student email to log in. They should use their @cvtc.edu address

Issue: After a student sets up their account and accesses drive, Google just puts up a spinning multicolored circle that goes nowhere.
Solution: Sign out and sign back in. Close and reopen the browser if necessary.

Issue: After setting up their account, users try to access shared documents but must request access, even when they have a link.
Solution: Though setting up your account in Chrome signs the user in on that browser, many computers, including CVTC machines, will open links in Internet Explorer by default. On personal machines, this may pull up their personal gmail account. Users must sign out and sign back into their CVTC account to access these links correctly.
