Microsoft Authenticator - Re-Add Authenticator App - QR Code
If you recently got a new/different phone (or tablet), follow these directions to re-set up Microsoft Authenticator on your new device.
- On your PC or laptop, log into My Account Portal.
- If you are prompted to authenticate, but don't have access to your old phone, click here for alternative ways to login.

- Click Update Info, under Security info.
- Click Delete, on any old Microsoft Authenticator methods.
- Click + Add sign-in method.
- Click Choose a method.
Click Authenticator App. - Click Add.
- Click Next.
- Click Next.
- On your Phone or tablet, open the Authenticator App.
- Tap the QR code icon, in the lower right hand corner.
- If you do not see the QR icon in the lower right hand corner, you can click the + in the upper right hand corner. Then tap Work or school account > Scan QR Code.
- Use your phone to scan the QR code displayed on your PC.
- Click Next, on your PC.
- When prompted on your phone enter the number displayed on your PC.
Tap Yes. - Click Next.
