1. 1. Open the file you'd like to share with another person.
   2. Click the blue 'Share' button in the top right-hand corner.
      
      
      
      

   3. You can share a file by sending a shareable link. Click "Copy Link" to copy the link to your clipboard. You can then paste it to where it will be shared (email, message app, Canvas assignment, etc.).
      
      
      
      
      
      

   4. If allowing others to access the file via link, you will need to adjust the "General access" option. It will be Restricted by default. You can select Chippewa Valley Technical College to allow access to any user signed-in to Google with their CVTC account, or Anyone with the link to remove the sign-in requirement.
      
      

   5. "General access" options will also allow you to identify whether users can view, edit, or add comments on your document.
      
      
      • In the example below, users from Chippewa Valley Technical College must have the link to view the document. They also have no editing or commenting ability.
        
        
        
        
   6. You can also share your document directly with individuals. If you are sending it to someone within the CVTC community, start typing their name and email addresses automatically populate, allowing you to click on their name (you should also verify that the recipient is correct, and not someone else of the same name). If they are outside the CVTC community, you will have to type their entire email address. Once you have added your recipients, you will be able to assign their permissions of whether they can view, edit, or comment on your document, and an expiration date if needed. You can also send a message and/or notification to their email to access your document. Once you have selected your recipient(s) and permissions, click 'Send'.
