SharePoint - Site Assets

Audience: Commons content owners tasked with creating their group's SharePoint site.

Past Steps:

SharePoint - New Pages > SharePoint - Edit the Header > SharePoint - Vertical Section Navigation > SharePoint - Create a Section > SharePoint - Add Content to Page > SharePoint - Other Sites and Comments

This Step: Site Assets

Each department and committee has their own folder within the root Site Assets folder.  Inside the group's folder should be a Documents folder and an Images folder.  Documents and images that are used on site pages should be uploaded to these folders and then linked on the page.  Content owners are allowed Edit access to their group's folder and read access to any folder.  Submit a SharePoint Request if there are access issues.

  1. Hover over the Tech Help menu (1) and click on SharePoint Site Assets (2).

  2. Navigate to the department or committee folder within the Site Assets folder (CPD is shown in the example).  Click on the Images (or Documents) folder.  The path will be shown ending with Images (1) (or Documents).

The image or document file can be uploaded in this folder by clicking Upload (2) then Files (3).  Browse to the saved file on the computer and click the Open button.
    (4) New folders can be created in the Images folder if desired to keep the images organized.

Next Step:

SharePoint - Save Page as a Draft > SharePoint - Publish Page
